“Even“ was founded in New York in 2015 as a new source for criticism by a young global generation of writers and artists. This anthology collects more than thirty of “Even“’s best essays on the cultural themes that define our time.

Contemporary Art, Theory / History / Criticism
This book approaches different problems concerning artistic practice, from new institutions, painting after pixels, design for living, area studies and offline networks, all based on the texts, essays, reflections and comments of many contemporary voices from different fields: Kanishk Tharoor, Philip Tinari, Huw Lemmey, James McAuley, Andrianna Campbell, Matthew J. Abrams, Daniel Penny, Zoë Lescaze, Kyle Chayka among many others.

Jason Farago is an art critic for The New York Times. He reviews exhibitions in New York and abroad, with a focus on global approaches to art history. Previously he edited Even, an art magazine he co-founded. Rebecca Ann Siegel is publisher at Frieze Magazine, and the co-founder of Even, an arts magazine focused on global culture and politics. Prior to joining frieze, she served as Even’s publisher and the co-host of Hidden Noise, a podcast on arts exhibitions and institutions in New York City.
